Description

OPALPLUS HAS BEEN PURCHASER OF PERTH MINT COINS SINCE EARLY 1980s

IN AUGUST 2007 WE WERE APPROVED AS AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR PERTH MINT AUSTRALIA .

COINSPLUS NOW SPECILAIZES IN COINS

Avast ye mateys!  Since the first release of the $1 Blackbeard Coin, this seafaring pirate series has proved popular plunder for young collectors.

Sir Henry Morgan (Ca. 1635 -1688) was amongst the most successful and most pitiless pirates who ever sailed the Spanish Main.  Morgan was infamous for his habit of torturing hapless captives to obtain tactical information.

Notorious Pirate Reverse Design

The coin’s reverse depicts Henry Morgan against the backdrop of a pirate ship.  The design includes a coloured representation of a pirate chest, two barrels (hogsheads) and a bottle of rum, and also incorporates The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

Aluminium Bronze $1 Coin

Each coin is struck by The Perth Mint in aluminium bronze.

Tuvalu Legal Tender

Each coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu.

The Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2011 year-date appears on the obverse.

Presentation Card

The coin is housed on an illustrated presentation card.  Each of the cards in this series have been especially designed to fit together to make a great pirate poster montage.

Why are users outbidding themselves?

Automatic Bid icon
Automatic Bid

When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a person is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on behalf of the bidder, incrementally increasing the bid up to the maximum to maintain their position as the highest bidder.

When there is an icon indicating 'Automatic Bid', it means our system is actively placing bids for the bidder based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if bidders are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the bidders maximum limit.

Audit

The Coin Sheriff program allows our members to request an audit on any product, which is completed by an independent Numismatic Specialist who assesses the accuracy of the item description and pictures.
