The South Africa 1952 5 Shillings silver coin (KM# 41) commemorates the 300th anniversary of the founding of Cape Town and features King George VI on the obverse and a ship sailing into Table Bay on the reverse. It has a standard mintage of about 1.7 million, but a smaller number of much rarer proof and prooflike versions were also produced. The coin is made of 50% silver and has a weight of 28.28 gram
