Italian States. Tassarolo. Silver Luigino of 1666. From an unidentified wreck off the coast

of Sicily, the cargo consisted of Mexican cobs and these formerly rare Italian States

silver. The ship seems to have sunk around 1666 or 1667 based on the dates of the

coins. It was located based on pieces washing up on the shores of Sicily for years. The

identity of this wreck is a mystery, and so is the question of why it was carrying both

Italian States coins and Mexican cobs (only Mexican though, no other mints).

COIN SIZE 20MM

COIN WEIGHT 2.31

Why are users outbidding themselves?

Automatic Bid icon
Automatic Bid

When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a person is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on behalf of the bidder, incrementally increasing the bid up to the maximum to maintain their position as the highest bidder.

When there is an icon indicating 'Automatic Bid', it means our system is actively placing bids for the bidder based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if bidders are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the bidders maximum limit.

Audit

The Coin Sheriff program allows our members to request an audit on any product, which is completed by an independent Numismatic Specialist who assesses the accuracy of the item description and pictures.
