The 2014 Australian Koala Silver Gilded Edition depicts an appealing new design of the popular koala highlighted in 24-carat gold.
The coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver.
The reverse design depicts an adult koala gilded in 24-carat gold, with a spray of gum leaves. The inscription AUSTRALIAN KOALA, the year-date, weight, fineness and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also feature as part of the design.
Each coin is issued as Australian legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 and features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination on the obverse.
The Perth Mint will issue no more than 5,000 of these Australian Koala 2014 10z Silver Gilded Editions from a maximum mintage of 10,000.
The 2014 Australian Koala Gilded Edition silver coin is housed in a stylish case and themed shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
