OPALPLUS HAS BEEN PURCHASER OF PERTH MINT COINS SINCE EARLY 1980s
IN AUGUST 2007 WE WERE APPROVED AS AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR PERTH MINT AUSTRALIA .
COINSPLUS NOW SPECILAIZES IN COINS
Discover Australia is a magnificent collector coin program from the historic Perth Mint. Scheduled for release between 2006 and 2008, the program comprises pure gold, silver and platinum proof coins depicting Australia's amazing fauna, landmarks and flora.
Proof Quality 99.9% Pure Silver
This 2007-dated coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality.
Landmarks Theme – Phillip Island
The coin's reverse portrays Phillip Island. Located 124 kilometres south of Melbourne, the island was once occupied by the Bunurong aboriginal people. European settlers used it for fishing, sheep farming and to grow chicory. The Island’s popularity among Victorians took off in the 1920s with the aid of ferry services, while the contrasting attractions presented by spectacular wildlife and motor racing helped it to national and international fame.
Coloured Reverse Design
The reverse symbolises the return each evening of Little Penguins from the sea to their sand dune burrows on Phillip Island. The design, which features coloured rocks in the background, includes the year-date and The Perth Mint's traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 , the coin depicts Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse.
Uniquely Australian Packaging
Each coin is housed in a superb presentation case with a lid made from Australian sheoak timber. The case comes in a protective outer shipper featuring Discover Australia's distinctive logo.
Numbered Certificate of Authenticity
Each coin is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
Limited Mintage
The Perth Mint will release no more than 7,500 of these coins worldwide
