ONE KILO SILVER COIN
In Chinese culture, people born in the Year of the Rabbit - 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999 and 2011 - are regarded as intelligent, articulate, compassionate and loyal.
Specimen Quality 99.9% Pure Silver
A superb gift or collectable, the coin is meticulously struck by The Perth Mint from one kilo of 99.9% pure silver in specimen quality.
Gorgeous Coloured Design with Emerald Gemstone
The coin’s reverse depicts an adult rabbit and a young rabbit in colour. The adult rabbit has an emerald set in its visible eye. The rabbits are surrounded by foliage and a tree with creepers entwined in its branches. The Chinese character for ‘rabbit’ and the inscription ‘Year of the Rabbit’ also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.
Australian Legal Tender
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse.
Limited Mintage
The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 Gemstone Edition coins celebrating the 2011 Year of the Rabbit.
Presentation Packaging and Numbered Certificate of Authenticity
The Year of the Rabbit Gemstone Edition Coin is housed in a black and red display case and illustrated shipper, and is accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
