The Australian Sixpence was a coin used in the Commonwealth of Australia prior to the decimalisation of Australian coinage in 1966. The sixpences were part of Australian silver coinage and minted from 1910 to 1963.

Unlike other silver Australian coinage the design of the Australian Sixpence did not change for 50 years, creating a record as one of the coins which was least changed - the design of the first coin minted in 1910 was the same as the last coin minted in 1963!

The only difference between sixpences is that those minted from 1910 to 1945 have a silver purity of 92.5% for a troy ounce weight of 0.0839 while those minted from 1946 onwards have a silver purity of 50% and a troy ounce weight of 0.0453.
