2010 and 2009 Australian Kookaburra

The Australian Kookaburra coins portray a laughing kookaburra, a native bird synonymous with the Australian bush.  The 2010 coin's reverse includes the P mintmark, while the 2009 coin's reverse includes an augmented ‘P20’ mintmark signifying that it is part of the 20th annual issue.

Individual 2009 1oz Australian Kookaburra silver coins are no longer available from The Perth Mint as a result of phenomenal worldwide sales which have almost accounted for its 300,000 limited mintage.  As a result, this Coin Show Special set represents one of the last chances to acquire the 20^th edition of this famous silver release.

Australian Legal Tender

Both coins, which are issued a legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, depict the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse.
