Festival of lights
Diwali is the ancient Hindu ‘festival of lights’. Observed by millions of people in India and around the world, the annual five-day festival represents the triumph of light over darkness. Celebrated with candles and lamps, fireworks, family feasts and the exchange of many gifts, Diwali is also a time to pay homage to Hindu deities, including Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, and Ganesha, the god of good fortune.
Lakshmi design
This carefully crafted pure gold bar features a minted impression of Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth, fortune, and prosperity, seated upon a lotus flower—a symbol of purity and spiritual enlightenment. In her presence, coins rise from a bowl, signifying the flow of abundance and blessings. Included in the design is The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
