The 1958-D Lincoln wheat penny is a common coin in circulated grades, but higher-grading examples are scarce. It was the last wheat Lincoln cent struck at the Denver Mint in 1958, when the D-mint subtype ended. The coin features a bust of Abraham Lincoln on the obverse, with the words "IN GOD WE TRUST" around the top, "LIBERTY" to the left of his portrait, and the date and mintmark on the right. The reverse side shows wheat ears with the words "ONE CENT" and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" in between, and the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" around the top. The coin is made of 95% copper and 5% tin and zinc, has a diameter of 19 mm, and weighs 3.1 grams.
