COINSPLUS NOW SPECILAIZES IN COINS
The Perth Mint has struck Australia’s official commemorative coins for the Shanghai World Expo 2010, taking place between 1 May and 31 October. Authorised by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, each coin in the program celebrates the Australian pavilion, where engaging exhibits and unique attractions are showcasing Australian innovation, creativity and achievement.
This coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in bullion quality.
The coin’s coloured reverse depicts the visually striking Australian pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo 2010. The design includes the Australian pavilion’s colourful logo - a representation of the Australian continent in three wavy lines symbolising the blue sea and sky, red centre and golden beaches.
The coin’s reverse also incorporates The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the 2010 year-date.
Limited to a mintage of 30,000, this Shanghai World Expo 2010 silver coin is subject to an exclusive distribution agreement in China. Under a special arrangement, however, 1,000 coins can be issued by The Perth Mint for sale worldwide.
The coin is housed in a presentation case and themed box-shipper accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
