Captain James Tiberius Kirk was immortalised by actor William Shatner in the original Star Trek and in seven feature films, as well as the animated version of the series. Captain Kirk became Starfleet’s youngest captain when he took command of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 for its five-year mission.
