Proof Quality 99.9% Pure Silver This 2007-dated coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality. Landmarks Theme – Sydney The coin’s reverse symbolises Sydney, Australia's largest metropolis, which began as a desolate penal colony in 1788 when Captain Arthur Phillip sailed the 'First Fleet' from Botany Bay to a more suitable site at Sydney Cove. In contrast to its early existence, Sydney offers an enviable lifestyle around the sparkling blue waters of its magnificent harbour and famous beaches. Coloured Reverse Design The reverse design depicts a blue sky above the unique curved roof structures of Sydney's Opera House, together with the 'coathanger', as the Harbour Bridge is known to many. The year-date and The Perth Mint's traditional ‘P’ mintmark also appear in the design. Australian Legal Tender Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 , the coin depicts Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse. Uniquely Australian Packaging The coin is housed in a superb presentation case with a lid made from Australian sheoak timber.
